Your First Tattoo in Lombok: What to Expect

Your first tattoo does not have to be a large project. A small symbol, flower or short piece of lettering can be a good way to start, as long as the design and placement feel right to you. Here is how the process works at Lalu Tattoo Studio in Kuta Lombok.

Bring an idea, not a perfect drawing

Send a short description and a few references. Tell us what you like about them, your approximate size in centimetres and where you want the tattoo. If you are undecided, say so; the consultation is where we discuss a workable composition.

Agree on size, placement and price

A tiny reference image may need more room on skin so the detail reads clearly. We discuss the placement and design before the session. Small tattoos up to 5 cm start from IDR 700,000, while medium 5–15 cm pieces start from IDR 1,200,000. The final quote depends on your specific idea. A booking deposit is deducted from the final price; confirm its amount and terms before paying.

At the studio

We are on Jl. Raya Kuta in Kuta Mandalika. The studio is private and air-conditioned, and equipment for the session is opened in front of you. You must be at least 18 and bring valid photo ID. Ask any questions about the stencil, placement or process before the tattoo begins.

Plan for healing

The artist will explain aftercare for your tattoo. If you are travelling, do your swimming and surfing before the appointment: our studio advises staying out of the ocean and pools for at least 14 days and until healed. Leave yourself time to care for the new piece.
